Mangaluru, Feb 28: Mangaluru city police commissioner Chandra Shekar on Tuesday, February 28 informed that the police have arrested three persons relating to the murder of Kalia Rafiq on February 14.
Noor Ali (36) from Uppala, Rashid T S (30) from Hosadurga, Kasargod and Husenabba alias Suhail alias Usthad (35) from Siddakatte are the persons arrested. They are the prime accused in the case. Three other suspects are absconding.
Commissioner also said that pistol, swords and car used for the crime have been seized.
Mangalore CCB team led by inspector Sunil Y Nayak and Ullal Police team led by PI Gopikrishna carried out the joint operation.
As per details provided, Rafiq had murdered Muthalif at Uppala in 2013 and Rafiq was arrested and went to jail. Muthalif’s brother Noor Ali hatched plan to eliminate Rafiq. They attempted 5 times all the attempts were unsuccessful.
Driver of the tipper Rashid along with Noor Ali and Husenabba in another vehicle followed Kalia Rafiq. When they reached Kotekar, they banged the tipper lorry to Kalia Rafiq’s car. Kalia Rafiq was attacked subsequently and killed.
It is said that Kalia Rafiq was involved in many criminal cases including Rajdhani Jewellery shootout case along with Kali Yogish.
