Fearing threat to Sasikala, jailmate Cyanide Mallika shifted to Belgaum

Bengaluru, Feb 22 (Agencies) : Convicted serial killer and Jayalalithaa fan KD Kempamma, also known as Cyanide Mallika, was shifted to Hindalga prison in Belagavi, north Karnataka, earlier this week.

Cyanide Mallika had last week made headlines because she was lodged in Parapanna Agrahara prison, where AIADMK chief VK Sasikala Natarajan is currently put up. What’s more, Mallika was held in the cell next to Sasikala’s.

According to reports, Mallika was shifted out of Parapanna Agrahara because her presence there was considered by some as a threat to Sasikala’s life.

'Cyanide' Mallika, possibly the country's first woman serial killer, is in jail for killing six women. She allegedly identified rich women frequenting temples in and around Bengaluru, befriended them and killed them using cyanide before making off with their jewellery. She was arrested in 2008 and convicted in many cases.

While security officials felt that Mallika posed a threat to Sasikala in the Agrahara jail, media reports suggested the two had formed a cordial relationship.

"In fact, she would not allow Sasikala to stand in queue during meal time. She used to bring the food for her," a report said quoting sources.

The jail officials were uneasy at this development, and Mallika was shifted one day without informing her.

Incidentally, Sasikala is housed in the same cell where another high-profile murderer, advocate Shubha Shankarnarayan, had been lodged for years. Shubha was convicted of murdering her techie-fiance in collusion with her boyfriend and his aides in 2003, said reports.

The shifting of Cyanide Mallika from the Bengaluru jail comes even as the AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu, under new CM Edappadi Palanisamy, is said to be making efforts to get Sasikala shifted to a prison in Tamil Nadu.

Women full of greed such as Sasikala, Amma, and what have you are greater threat to India than Mallika, who turned to crime for some compelling reasons ((maybe))??

I do not support criminality of Mallika or others.

Why this 'Cyanide' Mallika', Cyanide Mohan another serial killer is in jail still, I can't understand. In which century, a strong and bold govt. can come to hang all those who killed people especially innocents? Congress govt became very lenient that is why crimes increased like anything. BJP at least you people take some bold decisions and finish these murders and empty the jails. Unnecessarily tax payers are punished to take care of these R's and B's.

Its quite intriguing to know that the AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu, under new CM Edappadi Palanisamy, is said to be making efforts to get Sasikala shifted to a prison in Tamil Nadu. My suggestion to let her live in her palace in TN.

Sasikalas convoy was attacked at Bengaluru which means she is at danger at the jail in TamilNadu. She will be shifted to Tamilnadu jail soon where she will run the state from jail. Thats what will happen I feel. However Sasikalas proxy goverment may not get elected a second term at TamilNadu i feel. Anyway lets see how things shape up at TamilNadu. I am just looking at the possible political scenario at TamilNadu.

it is surpirsing that more and more criminals wanted to be jailed in banglure or belgavi of karanataka state may be because the good climatic condition of these two places.latest news in tv ,today few lawyer of shashikal are arriving at banglure high court for appeal to shift her to chenai jail. But i suggest that sashikala should be retained in banglure jail only, because she will be a tourist attraction. more tourists and ministers, mla"s and followers, junior criminals from tamil nadu will visit Bangalore. Bangalore will get good tourist business in hotels and food drinks tour operators ,totally it will increase business of bangalure. morever they drink kaveri water.

Sasikala should be lodged in Bangalore prison. If she is shifted to Tamilnadu prison it will end up like Lalu Prasad converting a posh house into a prison in the "Fodder Scam". There is a similarity in the modus operandi of Lalu Prasad and Sasikala. Lalu made Rabri Devi the CM and managed as de facto CM from prison; Sasikala, if lodged in a Chennai prison, will end up dictating terms every day to a lame duck CM EPS in the chair. Justice becomes a joke. The common man in prison will not have the same privilege.
