Doha, Nov 1: He came, he saw and he conquered. This is what could be said about the much-awaited Arjun Janya Live in Concert that was held at the DPS Auditorium here on Friday October 30 under the patronage of Tulu Koota Qatar. The Magical Composer of Sandalwood captured the hearts of the Doha audience with his magical compositions that were magically rendered by magical singers Vijay Prakash of Jai Ho fame, versatile and enchanting Anuradha Bhat, powerhouse Indu Nagaraj of Pyar-ge aag-buttaithe, Chinmai Athreyas, the winner of Zee TV Kannada SaReGaMaPa and Arjun Janya himself. The full-house Friday audience at the DPS Auditorium were entertained to the maximum as the top-class singers belted out hits after hits leaving the audience asking for more.

The programme began with a short introduction by compere RJ Avinash, who had been part of planning and execution of Arjun Janya live in concert from the beginning, before the lighting of traditional lamp by TKQ president Ravi Shetty, vice-president Prakash Thonse, general secretary Kiran Anand, executive members and senior members of TKQ.

RJ Avinash threw open the stage to the evening’s compere, gorgeous and eloquent Anupama Bhat. She is the sister of singer Anuradha Bhat and they hail from Mangaluru. Anupama who began as anchor in TV shows is into films now. She attained great popularity as contestant in the Big Boss 2. She just not brings in charm to the stage but also has the ability to capture the audience with her unique style of anchoring.

After a brief intro, it was the entry of Anuradha Bhat that gave an auspicious opening to the show. She is one of the most popular voices in Kannada film industry and is credited with many popular songs. She has lent her voice to almost all the popular music directors of Sandalwood. Other than playback singing for movies, Anuradha Bhat has sung more than 5,000 songs in 13 different languages (Kannada, Tulu, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Sanskrit, Kodava, Badaga, Lambaani & English) for several other music projects like devotional, folk, bhaavageethe, pop albums, remix songs, children’s rhymes, Ad films/jingles and TV serials.

But then it was the entry of popular Vijay Prakash that made the audience shower applause that reverberated through the Auditorium. Vijay Prakash made the entry with Jai Ho, an A R Rahman composition which won the 2008 Academy Award for Best Original Song. Before the grand entry of Arjun Janya, Indu Nagaraj and Chinmai Athreyas rocked the audience with their maiden performance of the evening that was well appreciated by the audience.

Once Arjun Janya made a grand entry to the show, he took it to another level rendering super duper melody and foot-tapping numbers. Popular numbers composed by Arjun such as ‘Aalochane’ from the movie Romeo, foot-tapping Sesamma Sesamma from DK, Adhyaksha Adhyaksha, Phonu Ella Message Ella from Adhyaksha, ‘Vone Vone’ and ‘Yakka Nin Magalu’ from Victory, Jeeva Jeeva, Mamu Mamu from Maanikya, No Problem from Vajrakaya, Avnu Michael Jacksonnu from Jackson and the cult song Khali Quarter Baatli Hange Lifeu from Victory enchanted the audience and had them storming to the dance floor.

Along with these hit numbers some of the hit Kannada and hit numbers from yesteryears too were rendered dishing out a delicious musical extravaganza much to the amazement of the audience.

VJ Anupama Bhat, the host of the evening came in for special praise from the gathering. Her hold over the language and the audience coupled with her spontaneity with timely punches and witty dialogues succeeded in keeping the show lively throughout.

A short stage programme was held during the show wherein both Arjun Janya and Vijay Prakash were honoured. The platinum, diamond, golden, silver and support sponsors of the event too were honoured by Tulu Koota president Ravi Shetty.

Dr Padmashree Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
