Bhatkal: 100-year celebration of Majlis-e-Islah Wa Tanzeem begins with huge procession

Bhatkal, Dec 25: The centenary celebration of the Majlis-e-Islah Wa Tanzeem, a leading social organization in Bhatkal, began with a huge rally depicting Nawayath culture on Wednesday December 24. Thousands of Tanzeem members participated in the rally. The procession was led by community leader and president of Tanzeem, 100-year-old S M Syed Khaleelurrahman along with Tanzeem president Muzzamil Kazia.

The procession started from Anjuman Hami-e Muslimeen ground at 2 pm. The march past had members from different sports clubs of Bhatkal under the leadership of the Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation. The bike rally had more than 100 Bullet motorcycles in attendance. The participants in the public rally wore white shirts and white ‘lungis’ synonymous with the Nawayaths .

The rally was a silent one without any slogans being raised. After crossing the circle, around 4 pm, it reached Tanzem Ground, Nawayath Colony.

At 4 pm, it reached Nawayath Colony Tanzeem Ground and after ‘Asar’ prayer all gathered at Tanzeem Ground for the stone laying ceremony of the Tanzeem Building.

At 5 pm, Dr Syed Ali Malpa, founder of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal, laid the foundation stone of the Tanzeem building with prayer.

Community leader S M Syed Khaleurrahman, Tanzeem president Muzzamil Kazia, chief Qazi Maulana Iqbal Mulla, Qazi Khalifa Jamaath ul Muslimen Maulana Khaja Mohinuddin Akrami, and Tanzeem vice-president Altaf Kharoori, spoke on the occasion. Tanzeem vice-president S.M Pervez, vice-president Inayatullah Shahbandari, programme convener P Abdullah Damudi and other execetive members were also present.

Gulf Jamaath members Ubaidullah Askery, Qmar Sada Faisal Damudi, Younus Kazia, Abdus Sami Kola, Aftab Kazia, Abdurrahman Siddiqui, Aftab Kola, Kazia Ibrahim, Mohammed Arif Akrami, K. M Burhan, Faqooque Shahbandari Patel, Jailani Mohtesham, Syed Hashim, and Irshaq Siddiqua were present.

The success of the rally was due to the efforts of the Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation and all arrangements were done very systematically along with co-operation of all sports centers of Bhatkal.

Bhatkal MuslimYouth Federation president Imtiyaz Udyawar, BMYF general secretary Maulana Irfan Nadvi, secretary Maulana Azizurrahman Ruknaddin, Irshad Gawai, Zubair Armar, and Inayatullah Gawai were also present.
