Bangalore, Apr 18: Some politicians are ready to stoop to any level for the sake of power. For some, this coming May 5 election is a challenge, for some a matter of prestige, while for others, the end of the world!
Some so-called 'loyal' partymen, when tickets are denied to them, cry (crocodile tears?) in front of the cameras and on TV channels. They think it is the end of everything, and there is nothing beyond it.

But there are those who keep aside all shame and jump from party to party, and join anyone who is willing to give them some recognition. These are the types that cannot stay away from power.
C P Yogeshwar, former Sandalwood actor is one such example.
CPY who won the 2004 and 2008 general elections on Congress ticket, jumped to BJP for a chair. After enjoying power as minister (for few months) for almost five years, he resigned and announced that he was joining Congress. It was clear that he saw the BJP ship sinking, and hopped over to the Congress boat in hopes of coming to power again.
Unfortunately, though the Congress accepted him, it did not give him the ticket. Now, being out of favour with BJP and facing rejection by the Congress high command, Yogeshwar has knocked on the doors of Mulayam Singh's Samajawadi Party. This time he will contest from his native Channapattana constituency with Cycle symbol !
Having entered the assembly as independent candidate in 1999, CPY has fought six elections so far (3 assembly elections, 2 bypolls, and 1 parliamentary election) - once as independent (1999), twice with Congress symbol (2004 and 2008) and thrice with lotus symbol (2009 Lok Sabha, 2009, 2010 Assembly bypoll).
For this actor-cum-politician, this is 7th election, and the fourth symbol! Perhaps the actor in him is still at work, making him take up versatile 'roles' in politics too!
One just hopes that people remember his party as well as his symbols !
