Mangalore: 'Sompa' Tulu Movie to Hit Theatres on Sep 14

Mangalore, Sep 11: 'Sompa', the eagerly awaited Tulu movie produced under the banner of Namratha Hegde Films is all set for release across theatres in Dakshina Kannada on Friday September 14.

Addressing the media here on Tuesday September 11, Namratha Hegde said that the film's release had to be postponed because of the controversy due to the film's earlier title, 'Rampa' which was opposed by Ramappa's family. After due consideration, the name was changed to 'Sompa' and accordingly changes were made in the film, which delayed its release, she explained.

Script writer Ajathashatru narrated the story of the film and said that it revolved around the lives of three men who are in a fix over some problems. Just at that moment a man walks into their lives who proves to be godsend, helping them to resolve all their problems.

He further said that the movie has all the ingredients of a family entertainer, including comedy, action and romance.

Producer Geetha Hegde and others were present.

‘Sompa’ Tulu movie is being produced by Geetha Hegde and Namritha Hegde. Rajan Lalpuri, Mumbai has directed the movie. There are four songs in the movie. Bolli Paradedonji Menkundu, Mandedd Malla Mundas Olla, Udalaase Mudundu, Nikar Nikar Ke (Hindi) are the four different songs.
 
Iqbal Darbar has given music. Vijaykumar Kodialbail, Shashiraj Kavoor, Thamma Laxmana and Rajan Lalpuri are the lyricists, Dr Nithin Acharya, Dr Sushil Rao, Rimidar Arif have provided the background music. There is also a Hindi song in this movie. The music was released on September 7.

The movie will be screened in the theatres of Mangalore, Puttur and Moodbidri on Friday.
