Bangalore: JD(S) MLA Zameer Ahmed Smashes Table at Haj Ghar Ceremony

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Jan 16: The foundation laying ceremony of 'Haj Ghar' near Yelahanka here on Sunday January 15 was marred by a sudden burst of protest from JD(S) MLA Zameer Ahmed, who was angry over Jaffer Sharief's name not being given priority at the function.

Zameer pushed around a table, and hit it against the ground, causing its glass top to break into pieces. He also threw chairs and broke a glass containing water.

The incident occured when secretary in the department of minority welfare department Syed Zameer Pasha was welcoming guests in the order of their names in the invitation as per protocol. Zameer demanded to give precedence to former railway minister Jaffer Sharief over others as he is a senior Muslim leader. When Pasha continued to invite guests as per the invitation, Zameer got angry, and smashed the table to the ground.

Supporters of Jaffer Sharief too joined in the protest and shouted slogans.

Chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda, home minister R Ashok and other dignitaries on the dais were taken aback by this sudden development. Jaffer Sharief, who then rose to Zameer’s rescue, requested everyone to excuse Zameer for this behaviour. “Zameer is my fan. That is why he got angry. Everyone should maintain peace,” he requested.

In his address thereafter, the CM said he was hurt by this incident, and advised the concerned to exercise restraint. While inviting legislators and MPs from minority communities to discuss with him about their problems prior to the preparation of the budget, he warned that Zameer will not be allowed to discuss the issues, if he tries to behave in this way there too.

Zameer had in the past too, shown unruly behaviour in the assembly when he tried to stand on the table of the speaker after deriding him during the election of speaker K G Bopaiah, and again during the movement of no-confidence motion against Yeddyurappa-led government.

The new Haj Ghar, a long-standing demand of Muslims in the state, will be built at a total cost of Rs 40 crore. The government has already released Rs 12 crore for the project.

JD(S) MLA Zameer Ahmed Smashes Table at Haj Ghar Ceremony.
It was indeed a shameful act, which can't be Justified on any occasion where as this was the function (foundation of Haj Ghar) which was long awaited by Karnataka Muslim bretheren. Meanwhile the aspect which everyone should know here is that,IAS officer & Secretary for Minorities department Syed Zameer Pasha, to whose speech Zameer was objecting, has given a lot of effort in passing this project, running post to pillar in Convincing the present government (which in CM's own words is famous for sanctioning hefty amount to Mutts) to Sanction the 41 crores for HAJ GHAR.Even though many political Leaders have tried before, and once the land was allotted, then cancelled,But Syed Zameer Pasha not only suceeded in passing the project, but also good enough to start the project.
I dont know that both have same name i.e ZAMEER., But the divergent is largely visible.

May be it is shameful acts for others but for JDS Party goers particularly person like MLA Zameer Ahmed this kind of action always suits his personality. On seeing the conditions of Haj going people including few elders openly laying on one of the Bangalore Ground few days before they board Haj Flight to Saudi, Yeddy gave personal instruction to build one “Haj Ghar” to accommodate those devoted people. Previous Government did nothing and now they want their leaders name to be printed with bold letter...for what? Former Minister Jaffer Sharief himself was accused while using Haj quota for his relatives and friends. Do we need his name to be formalized for good cause? Remember last time there were two elders Muslims from Mangalore denied last minute boarding because of these kinds of issues only. Just imagine conditions of these elders when they have been stopped boarding. Because of we have a tradition in our village to inform everyone even non-Muslims too before they perform Haj

I don't care whether he is a good muslim or a bad muslim, basically he has shown animal behaviour here.

He must not be invited to any of the future Govt. of Karnataka functions. Afterall what can you expect from someone who just did driving all his life.

12 crore already sanctioned already for Hajj Ghar! Come on guys, now stop whining. These guys are doing a better job than the ones who use you just for vote sake.

SHAME on such leaders.. They have no rights to call themselves OUR MUSLIM LEADERS.... They are just worried abt their ticket and not muslims well being.
Forget abt being leaders, they cannot even be called a good muslim.

I think one muslim leader who is somewhat close to being a good leader is Hyderabad MP ASAUDDIN OWAISI.
Requesting all readers to watch his videos on youtube, on how he fights the police and fellow ministers for the voice of the poor.
Stark contrast from such unruly leaders.

Cheap Action for free popularity !!! There should be proper health checkup of politicians before they stand for election so that these kind of behaviors can be minimized. As most of our politicians have health problems like BP etc etc even they don't get punishment in Jail for their actions as I know most of our corrupt politicians are patients and shifted to hospital next hour if they are subjected to law and order.
