Bangalore, May 27:
Hat-trick hero Shivarajkumar was visibly happy on the sets of his latest film Nanda at Sri Kanteerava Studios. He had the generosity to appreciate the film Taare Zameen Par. He said that he watched the film and could not control his emotions. “I requested the audience to join me in clapping because it was a good film. It conveys a good message to society and it deals with a subject that pertains to a number of children. Aamir Khan has performed well. I would like to act in such a film,” says Shivarajkumar.

The amiable and gregarious artiste recalled how his father, late Dr Rajkumar, had advised him to let his daughter act in films. “My daughter Niveditha had acted in the film Andamaan, for which she won a State award. Appaji had asked me to let her to act in one more good film, but I did not evince interest due to personal reasons,” says Shivarajkumar.

Director Mahesh Babu is in the middle of preparations for a different kind of film that will star Shivarajkumar. “It is neither an art nor a commercial film; it's a different one. Wait and watch to see the difference,” says Shivarajkumar. He is one of the few artistes in the Kannada film industry who encourage debutante directors. He confesses that he finds no difference between experienced directors and debutantes. His recent film Satya In Love was directed by Raghava Loki, while Madesha is being directed by Ravi Srivatsa. Though Srivatsa has directed two films already, he is yet to taste success. Now, R Anantha Raju will make his debut as director with the film Nanda. “It is based on producer Maahin's real-life incident in 1997.

The subject is very interesting and different. Its title was initially Cobra, but it was changed to Nanda since the former sounds crude,” explains Shivarajkumar. Most of the shooting for Nanda is expected to take place in Bangalore. Though it is yet to be decided whether song sequences will be shot abroad, the film unit is expected to visit Vishakapatnam Port for five days. The film is all about how an innocent person working at a canteen gets trapped by anti-social elements and traces his journey out of the vicious circle. Sandhya, Rangayana Raghu, Sharath Lohitasva, Vanitha Vasu, Kishore, Ghazar Khan, Avinash, Sharan and Mithun Tejaswi.
