Ex-servicemen planning black flag-show to Gadkari held

Chandigarh, July 20 (IANS): A few ex-servicemen were detained by Haryana Police near Ambala on Monday while heading to show black flags to Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari.

The ex-servicemen wanted to protest against the failure of the Narendra Modi government to announce 'One rank, One pension' (OROP) for the defence personnel.

"About 20-25 ex-servicemen were rounded up at Ambala Cantt., about 20 km from the venue where the minister was to lay the foundation stone of a national highway project," a police officer said.
