Mumbai, Nov 8: Sunita Ahuja has expressed hope that she and her husband, actor Govinda, will overcome their current marital difficulties and reunite as a family, saying their nearly four-decade-long relationship cannot be broken.
Amid continuing speculation about their marriage, Sunita spoke about their relationship in an interview with Pinkvilla. When asked whether audiences could expect to see the family together again, she responded optimistically, saying the present phase was difficult but expressing confidence in their long-standing bond.
“Of course, we will see, why won’t we? Currently, the time isn’t in our favour and one cannot fight with time. It’s a 40-year-old marriage, why won’t it sustain? It’s fine, he’s doing what he likes. I am working, and my entire focus is on work but nobody can ever separate us in this lifetime. Rest, I’ve all left to the almighty,” she said.

Sunita has previously spoken openly about feeling disappointed over Govinda's alleged infidelity, while also maintaining that she does not intend to walk away from the marriage.
During an episode of the reality show 'Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa', she spoke about feeling cheated in the relationship. “Infidelity has been happening since day one, hasn’t it? He is a hero after all, so you can’t say anything. If I keep stressing at this age, my diabetes will spike. I just let it be and keep moving on. It’s fine, I live for my kids,” she said.
When asked whether Govinda continued to cheat on her and whether they had separated, Sunita said she could not monitor his every move. She also spoke about their living arrangements, saying they had two houses and that she valued having privacy in her own home.
After leaving the show, Sunita clarified that she and Govinda were together and said she had realised that family matters should remain within the family.
Govinda, meanwhile, described the period as a difficult phase in their lives and expressed hope that they would not face similar circumstances again. He also reaffirmed his commitment to Sunita, saying he was with her and hoped to remain so.
The couple, who have been married for around 40 years, have two children. Despite the public speculation surrounding their relationship, both have indicated that they hope to move beyond the current difficulties.
