Delhi government approves 'Home to Hospital Care' scheme


New Delhi, July 16 (IANS): The Delhi government on Thursday approved 'Home to Hospital Care' scheme to provide free emergency response ambulance service to the people of the capital, a government statement said.

'Home to Hospital Care' service can be availed of by Delhi people for transporting patient to the nearest hospital by dialing toll-free number '102', the statement said.

As many as 110 new ambulances would be procured to implement the scheme, including 100 for providing basic life support and 10 for advanced life support. Modern control rooms would also be set up to monitor the service.

This facility will be provided by Centralised Accident and Trauma Services (CATS), an autonomous body of the Delhi government, the statement added.
