Panaji, Apr 9: Tarun Katial, Big FM's young and dynamic, chief operating officer (COO), in an exclusive interview to Daijiworld.com, stated that his company would diversify into the audio content era by partnering with the mobile companies and mobile service providers.

Katial spoke about the Big FM, the company, which is making strides in the country. The company is on expansion spree with various stations planned in next two months including Goa.

1. What are the value added services that will be offered by your company?

The company intends to tie up with the mobile service providers and companies to generate the content. Audio content works very well in the digital space. The format is very adoptable to being downloaded. We create unique content through our radio jockeys as well as user generated programmes through 45 stations. It may be wierdest laugh to a poem, it can be just anything.

2. What are the exact plans?

We have to agree that radio is much larger than video blogging or internet blogging. The company will generate unique audio content to different mobile operators. It could be a ring tone, alarm tone or audio that is embeded in the handset. Mobile companies can offer this pre-recorded stuff.

3. Any tie-ups worked out with the mobile companies?

We intend to partner with them. The idea is at very nascent stage right now.

4. Tell us about your plans for Goa station.

Goa will be one of our key stations. Similar to other stations, in Goa too, we will give listeners the platform to showcase their talents. If you are regular listener and if you have something unique, we have the platform to make you famous.

5. How important is Goa station for you?

Goa is a very unique station. It offers good challenge as there is a local market coupled with the huge influx of tourists. Goan businessman can reach to his client through us even before the client lands up in Goa. We have done extensive research of various markets through Indica and Indian market research bureau.

6. What are your immediate plans?

In all 45 stations would be functional by end of June. On April 9 we are starting Jalandhar station followed by Bhopal, Guwahati, Bhubaneshwar, Baroda and Agra in next ten days.
