Udupi, Oct 23: Thieves who gained into Hiranya finance by removing the tiles on the roof have decamped with an important record on Friday October 20 night.

The thieves said to have removed the tiles and then entered the finance.  They have ransacked the entire office.  But no cash or any other valuables are stolen.  Only a record about the water pipe scam, which rocked the town council some 5 years ago, has been stolen.

As known, the pipe scam had brought to light many irregularities that were going on in the town council.  Raghupati Bhat who was not an MLA then, had gone to the court in this regard.  These records of the case were preserved in a cupboard in Hiranya finance.

The thieves who entered Hiranya finance was intentionally stolen the said record.  No other records or money has been touched by them. This confirms that the thieves had entered into Hiranya finance only with the aim of stealing that particular record.

The thieves have also ransacked the bike showroom owned by the MLA which is next Hiranya finance.  Finance manager Sudarshan Acharya has filed a case in this regard.
