Mangalore: Vamanjoor Parishioners Felicitate Sr Maria Goretti

Mangalore, Oct 22: Sr Maria Goretti, who has been elected as the Mother General of SRA congregation, was felicitated by the Vamanjoor parishioners on Sunday Oct 22. It was in St Joseph the Worker Church Vamanjoor where Sr Maria Gorretti started her social service in 1981.

  

Monsignor Fr Edwin C Pinto, spiritual director, Mount Rosary Charitable Institutions, Alangar, Moodbidri, Sr Inviolata, provincial superior, Mangalore Province, Sr Lavina SRA, superior, SRA convent Vamanjoor, Doreen D'Cunha, vice-president, Vamanjoor Church were present on the occasion.  

 Jessy Alvares, a senior parishioner who had worked with Sr Maria Goretti and Fr Alphonse D'Lima, parish priest were also present on the dais.

 

The church choir led by Fr Sunil sang a song wishing all success to the ventures of Sr Maria Gorretti. 

 Fr D'Lima welcomed the gathering.

 Doreen read the Citation letter which was later handed over to Sr Goretti. Jessy Alvares hounoured Sr Goretti with a shawl.  

Responding to the felicitation, Sr Goretti thanked everyone for the love and support given to her during her service.

 

Joachim D'Souza, secretary, parish council proposed the vote of thanks.
