Mangalore, Sep 17: A drawing competition with the Father of the Nation in the children's perspective was held under the joint auspices of the Centre of Gandhi Studies and Artists' Combine here.
The purpose was to bring out their abstract ideas about Mahatma Gandhi into expressions on paper in the form of drawings, to mark the forthcoming Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.
The two-hour long competition attracted about 80 students. Three categories would be given separate cash prizes. All entrants were given participation certificates. Lunch and other facilities were provided by the organizers.
The participants were given the option of pencil sketches and colour painting.
