Mangalore, Sep 17: The Dakshina Kannada unit of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh on Sunday organized a memorial meet to recall the contribution of the late Prabhakar Ghate to its genesis and rise as a powerful tool of the working class.

Ghate had passed away in the city just over a year ago and the meeting was held as observance of his death anniversary.

District BMS vice president K Raghunath Shetty welcomed and introduced the guest speakers. Vibhag Sangh Chalak of RSS Dr Madhava Bhandary gave introductory remarks while Besant PU College's retired principal Dr M Prabhakar Joshi delivered the commemoration address.

BMS's former national president D K Sadashiva released a souvenir to mark the death anniversary.  BMS district president K Vishwanath Shetty delivered the presidential address.

Earlier, Umesh Shetty made an invocation. BMS zonal secretary K N Purushottam proposed a vote of thanks.  District organizing secretary Vasant Yeyyadi compered the programme.
