Mangalore, Sep 17: The city's SDM Law College organised a national seminar on 'Rethinking of Legal Education' on Saturday September 16.

Addressing the inaugural function of the seminar, deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa said that to encourage fresh advocates, the government will extend a sum of Rs 1,000 per month for the first year after their graduation.

He also informed that the government has already released Rs 1.5 crore for the district's court complex and will disburse another Rs 3 crore very soon.

SDM Law News was released by minister for higher education D H Shankaramurthy.

Former judge Justice A J Sadashiva presided over the programme. Among those present were district in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty, SDM Educational Society secretary B Yashovarma, Prof S H Patel of R L College, Davangere and Mangalore University vice-chancellor K M Kaveriappa.
