Mangalore, Sep 14: The Electrical and Electronics Students Council of St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor was inaugurated on Monday September 4 by Dr Uday Kumar R Y,  professor of Electrical and Electronics Department, NITK, Suratkal.

Speaking on the occasion he expressed his displeasure over the issue of opting for Information Technology (IT) field by electrical engineers. He urged the students to serve in their own field using numerous opportunities available. He also advised the students not to have unnecessary interest towards IT sector.

The function was presided over by Fr Valerian D’Souza, director of the college. Principal Dr R K Yaji was the chief guest while Prof Sathyendra Kumar Shet, HoD of E&E was the guest of honour.

Prof Shantharama Rai C, convener of the programme welcomed the gathering and specially the new members. Lloyd Glanson Antony, president of the council presented the annual report. Chaitrika Rao P, secretary proposed the vote of thanks.
