Puttur, Sep 13: The families of two victims of Hosmath Bridge tragedy were given compensation by MLA Shakuntala Shetty recently. 

The families of lorry driver Manjunath and cleaner Umesh were handed over the cheques of Rs 50,000 each by the MLA in the presence of assistant commissioner Appayya.  The MLA visited their families and distributed the cheques.

Speaking on the occasion she said that compensation to two more victims' families has been delayed since their bodies were found only a couple of days ago.  She assured that she would take personal interest in speeding up the process of granting compensation.

As reported, while the body of Suresh was found on Friday September 8, Sandeep's body was traced on Monday September 11.

ZP member from Kadaba Krishna Shetty, Kombar panchayat vice-president Muttukumar, Kadaba in-charge special tahasildar Soorappa Gowda and others were present on the occasion.
