Special children create awareness on autism

New Delhi, Apr 10 (IANS): A group of special children Tuesday walked to create awareness about autistic children and highlight that their abilities can be channelised in a productive manner.

The walk was to increase awareness about the increasing number of children being diagnosed for autism every year and dearth of schools catering to children suffering from the syndrome.

The initiative was taken by the AttachAvi Foundation and The Hans Foundation.

It was attended by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

"We all have deficiencies in us. We forget to accept them at times. It will be an honour for me to work for such a noble cause," Dikshit said.
