Mumbai, Oct 19: Veteran actor Anupam Kher revisited fond memories with megastar Amitabh Bachchan by sharing a throwback video of the duo trying their hand at parody during rehearsals for their ‘Jumma Chumma’ show in London.
On Monday, Kher uploaded the nostalgic clip on his official Instagram handle, showing the two actors having a great time as they performed a parody of the popular song ‘Sochenge Tumhe Pyar’ from the film ‘Deewana’.

Sharing the video, the ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ actor recalled how Bachchan tried to help him get the rhythm right while he attempted a parody about bald men.
“Arre Anupam! Rhythm par aao… taal par aao, taal par gaao, taal kahan hai??!” Kher wrote, recalling Bachchan’s efforts to bring some rhythm into his singing.
Describing the clip as precious, Kher said it was from their rehearsals for the spectacular ‘Jumma Chumma’ show in London. He also expressed delight at seeing Bachchan enjoying himself during the session.
In his nostalgic post, Kher described the 1980s and 1990s as the golden period of Hindi cinema, marked by affection, togetherness and camaraderie among members of the film industry.
“I entered films in 1984, so I cannot speak from personal experience about the years before that. But for me, the ’80s and ’90s will always be a golden period of Hindi cinema. There was such affection, togetherness and an ease with one another. We worked hard, but we also laughed so much. Hindi cinema felt like a family. Literally,” he wrote.
The ‘A Wednesday’ actor also reflected on one of the most valuable lessons he learnt from Bachchan — the importance of retaining a sense of fun.
“Watching this, I remember how much those moments shaped me. These were the days when I was becoming the person I am today. I am fortunate to belong to both eras. There is love among people today too, but those days hold a very special place in my heart. For a few moments, I was back in that rehearsal, trying to find my taal! Wah! Kya din the! @SrBachchan,” Kher concluded.
The actor’s post offered a glimpse into the camaraderie shared by the two stars during their rehearsals, taking fans back to a memorable era of Hindi cinema.
