Mangaluru, Oct 16: Srinivas University organised a Sadbhavana Divas on the occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of the late Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, founder chancellor of Srinivas University.
The programme brought together management members, faculty, students, and well-wishers to celebrate his visionary life and values. The occasion was further marked by three major milestones on campus: the inauguration of the newly constructed Kaveri pond, inauguration of Swarna Smaraka Dhama and the official launch of the department of Indian Knowledge System on October 16 at the Mukka campus.
Delivering his address, His Holiness Shri Vidyavallabha Tirtharu of Kaniyoor Matha described the late Dr Raghavendra Rao as a remarkably simple, humble, and obedient human being.
The Swamiji noted that despite managing a vast educational setup, Dr Rao never showed stress on his face and lived with absolute faith in god, frequently remarking that divine grace would handle all responsibilities.
Remarking on the rains that broke a dry spell the previous night, the Swamiji called both the rainfall and the Kaveri Pond inauguration divine blessings. He praised the university for launching the department of Indian Knowledge System, emphasising that Indian culture and traditions (Parampare) command global respect and attract international scholars.
