Mangaluru, Oct 13: The Yenepoya Moideen Kunhi Memorial Educational & Charitable Trust has officially announced the launch of the Yenepoya Teacher Awards 2026. Instituted to honour outstanding educators globally, the award aims to celebrate excellence, innovation, and creativity among teachers who go above and beyond to shape future generations.
The initiative is inviting applications from serving educators, headmasters, and principals across all recognised government, aided, unaided, and private institutions. To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum of three years of continuous teaching service.
The trust will present awards across four distinct categories, each carrying a prestigious cash prize of Rs 25,000:
* Excellence in Academics: Recognising inclusive teaching and classroom innovation.
* Excellence in Sports: Honouring fitness promotion, coaching, and sportsmanship.
* Excellence in Cultural & Creative Skills: Celebrating the nurturing of arts, music, drama, and traditional heritage.
* Excellence in Community Service & Social Impact: Rewarding meaningful responses to societal needs.
According to guidelines issued by Mishria Javeed, director of The Yenepoya School, candidates face no restrictions on category entries. Educators can apply for multiple categories provided they submit separate, distinct sets of supporting documents for each. The final selection will be determined via a combined score evaluating personal achievements alongside community contributions.
The deadline for submitting online applications and delivering verified document portfolios is October 31. All supporting evidence must be formally attested by the head of the applicant's institution. The award is also open for global entries. The winners will be felicitated at the award ceremony scheduled for November 14 at 9 am at the Yendurance Zone, Deralakatte.
