Srinivas University aviation students excel in intercollegiate chess and carrom tournaments

Mangaluru, Oct 6: The students of the Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, showcased commendable performance in the Srinivas University intercollegiate men’s chess and carrom tournaments 2026–2027, held at Srinivas University, City Campus, Pandeshwar. Tournament was held on October 5, organized by the department of physical education and sports, Srinivas University, the tournaments provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate their strategic thinking, concentration, coordination, teamwork, and sporting spirit.

In the men’s chess tournament, Joyal Binu of second year BBA Aviation Management secured third place, bringing pride to the Institute. In the men’s carrom tournament, the IAS students participated with enthusiasm and sportsmanship, displaying good coordination, teamwork, discipline, and competitive spirit throughout the competition. Their participation reflected their dedication to sports and their commitment to developing skills beyond academics.

The Institute of Aviation Studies have congratulated Joyal Binu on his achievement and appreciated all the participating students for their enthusiasm and sporting spirit. The students received constant support and encouragement from Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean, Institute of Aviation Studies, SWO, HODs, sports coordinators, and faculty members, which motivated them to perform with confidence and determination.
