Gaza, Sep 19: An Israeli air strike targeting a motorcycle in the Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood west of Gaza City killed a Palestinian and injured several others on Friday, Palestinian news agency Wafa reported. A child was among those injured and was in critical condition.

Israeli forces also opened fire in the Nuseirat and al-Bureij refugee camps in the central Gaza Strip, according to Wafa. The attacks on tents sheltering displaced Palestinians resulted in multiple injuries.

The latest strikes came amid continued Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip. According to figures cited in the report, at least 1,381 people have been killed in Israeli strikes in the enclave since the ceasefire was announced in October 2025.

The report said Israel's military campaign in Gaza since October 2023 has killed at least 73,795 people and wounded 174,869 others.

Earlier this week, an Israeli air strike in Gaza City killed a paramedic and a 15-year-old schoolboy. The Israeli military said the strike targeted Hamas operatives.

UNICEF said last month that an average of one child had been killed every day in Gaza since the ceasefire. The agency also said families were confined to about a third of the enclave, sheltering among destroyed buildings, rubble and uncleared waste.

On Wednesday, a previously damaged residential building collapsed in Gaza City, killing at least 21 people, including 12 children. Gaza's Palestinian Civil Defence agency said it faced difficulties recovering bodies from beneath the rubble because of restrictions on the entry of heavy equipment.

Gaza's Health Ministry warned on Wednesday that the territory's health system was on the verge of “total collapse”, citing continued restrictions on the entry of medical aid and fuel into the enclave.
