Riyadh, Sep 12: The Muslim World League and Bahrain have condemned drone attacks originating from Iraq that targeted Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline, leading to the closure of the key pipeline.

Muslim World League Secretary-General Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa condemned the attacks, saying they violated religious values as well as international and humanitarian laws and norms.

Bahrain's Foreign Ministry also condemned the attack in a statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency, describing it as a “blatant violation” of international law, the UN Charter and the principles of good neighbourly relations.

The ministry expressed Bahrain's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and stressed that the territory of any country should not be used as a launching pad for attacks against neighbouring states.

Bahrain also voiced support for Iraq's efforts to prevent similar attacks from taking place in the future.

The East-West pipeline is a key component of Saudi Arabia's oil infrastructure, allowing crude to be transported from the country's eastern oil-producing region to the Red Sea coast.
