Qatar, Sep 9: Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC) has announce the celebration of Monthi Fest, the traditional Mangalurean harvest festival, on Friday, September 11 at DPS Monarch School, Al Wukair.

Monthi Fest is a special occasion for the Mangalurean community, representing family togetherness, unity, gratitude, and the joy of celebrating the harvest. Continuing its long-standing tradition, MCC Qatar will celebrate Monthi Fest for the 35th consecutive year.

The celebration will include the traditional Novem Jevan, a special vegetarian feast with a variety of home-cooked dishes. The meal brings back the warmth and memories of celebrating Monthi Fest with family and friends back home in Mangaluru.

The main highlights of the celebration will include:

• Blessing and sharing of the new corn, an important Monthi Fest tradition symbolising a good harvest, prosperity, and togetherness.

• Cultural programmes by MCC members, showcasing the talents and rich cultural heritage of the Mangalurean community.

• Felicitation of academic achievers, recognising and encouraging members for their outstanding achievements in academics.

MCC Qatar has warmly invited all members of the Mangalurean community in Qatar to join the celebration and enjoy an evening of tradition, culture, food, entertainment, and togetherness.
