Mangaluru, Sep 2: The under-17 girls’ badminton team of Mount Carmel Central School, Maryhill, Mangaluru, secured the runner-up trophy at the AICS Badminton Tournament “SDM Fly High 2026”, organised by SDM School, Ujire, for Dakshina Kannada District on August 31.

The Mount Carmel shuttlers, Senona Aurel Pinto, Grade X; Saachi S. Shetty, Grade X; Tiara Amanda Gonsalves, Grade X; and Ananya Nayak, Grade IX displayed skill, composure and determination throughout the tournament. Their spirited performances, strong coordination and fighting spirit helped them put up a strong challenge and claim the runner-up position.

The achievement adds another feather to Mount Carmel Central School’s sporting record and reflects the players’ dedication, discipline and consistent efforts on the court.

The school management, principal, staff and students congratulated the young shuttlers and appreciated their parents, coaches and PETs for their continued guidance, encouragement and support.
