Mangaluru: Mount Carmel Central School shines at AICS events

Mangaluru, Aug 12: Students of Mount Carmel Central School, Maryhill, Mangaluru, delivered an impressive series of performances at various AICS competitions, bringing pride to the school through their talent, confidence, creativity and competitive spirit.

At the AICS Senior Secondary Cultural Competition “We are the Universe, Voices of Children”, held at SMS English Medium School, Brahmavar, on August 10, the students proved their mettle. The team secured second place in Qawali, second place in Theatre Drama, and third place in Bamboo Art.

The prize-winning teams were:

Qawali – Second Place: Abhigail Hephzibah, Grade XI; Tanvi Ashok Anchan, Grade XI; Ayaan Khan, Grade XII; Arush Suraj Ullal, Grade XII and Viona Pinto, Grade XI.

Theatre Drama – Second Place: Tanvi Ashok Anchan, Grade XI; Samanvitha S. Alva, Grade XI; Prishma Y. Suvarna, Grade XII; Poorna Adharsha Herale, Grade XII; Kevin Kushalappa, Grade XI and Abhigail Hephzibah, Grade XI.
Bamboo Art – Third Place: Angel Rose Fernandes.

At the AICS Literary Fest “CAN-MANTHANA 2026”, held at Canara CBSE School, Mangaluru on August 6 at the TV Raman Pai Convention Centre, the students showcased remarkable literary prowess across the Junior and Senior categories. Simona Nicola D’Sa, Grade VII secured Third Place in Turncoat, while Tanvi S. Shetty, Grade VIII won Third Place in Doha Darpan. In the senior category, Pavani N. K, Grade X secured second place in Catch the Clue, Sudhamshu K, Grade IX won third place in Bhashana Manjari, and Palak Kumari, Grade IX and Prachi Faujdar, Grade X jointly secured third place in Muhavron Ka Rangmanch.

The school also made its mark at the AICS Chess Tournament held on August 10 at B G S Education Centre, Kavoor, Mangaluru, with the Under-14 team comprising Vinel Dsouza, grade VII; Ahan Panicker, grade VI; Arthur Arun Alex, grade VI; Alan Steve Serrao, grade V and Joshua Jais, grade IV securing overall second place and the Under-17 team with Anmol Rockwill Dsouza, grade IX; Sanchay Keshava Bhar, grade IX; Rishal Satvik Suresh, grade VIII; Vishruth Shivaprasad, grade VII and Namasvi Poojary, grade V securing Overall Third Place.

These commendable results across cultural, literary and sporting disciplines are a testament to the versatility and excellence of the students. Their consistent performances at the AICS level reflect their dedication, teamwork and wholehearted preparation, proving once again that Mount Carmel Central School continues to nurture young talents who rise to every challenge and shine with distinction.
