Mangaluru, Aug 8: Carrying forward a cherished legacy of celebrating academic excellence, LCS Summit has, over the years, evolved into a significant annual tradition of Lourdes Central school, honouring students whose outstanding achievements set benchmarks of excellence.
Continuing this proud tradition, the LCS Summit was held on August 7, at the Summit Hall to felicitate the meritorious students who excelled in the CBSE Grade X Board Examination. The occasion brought together the school management, faculty members, students, proud parents and the distinguished chief guest in an atmosphere of pride and jubilation, as the institution celebrated the remarkable accomplishments of its young achievers and applauded their dedication, perseverance and commitment to excellence.
The programme commenced with a guard of honour, followed by a soulful prayer song.
The gathering was warmly welcomed by the principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira, who highlighted the significance of recognising academic excellence and encouraged students to continue striving for success.
The academic coordinator Deepa D'Souza then introduced the chief guest Dr Kishan B Shetty, deputy medical superintendent of Father Muller medical College hospital, Mangaluru, followed by felicitating the guest with a token of appreciation.
The school proudly honoured and felicitated Athish Shetty, student of grade 10 (2025-26), a rising star in the Kannada and Tulu film industry, for his remarkable achievement in Indian cinema. He was recognised for receiving the National Award for Best Child Actor for his outstanding performance in the acclaimed film Mithya. His achievement was celebrated with great pride, serving as an inspiration to the students to pursue excellence in their chosen fields with dedication and passion.
The school topper of the CBSE Grade X Board Examination 2025-26, Advaith U P, was felicitated for his outstanding academic achievement of securing the highest score in the school with an impressive 98.2%. His remarkable performance was applauded by the gathering. The topper then shared his journey of perseverance, gratitude, and determination, inspiring the fellow students and the juniors.
This was followed by the honouring of the achievers, during which 55 students who had secured 90% and above in the CBSE Grade X Board Examination were felicitated for their outstanding academic performance. The achievers were honoured along with their proud parents, making the occasion even more memorable as the school celebrated their hard work, dedication, and remarkable success.
The chief guest, Dr Kishan B Shetty, addressed the gathering with an inspiring and thought-provoking speech. He appreciated the students for their remarkable achievements and commended their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to excellence. Encouraging them to dream big and remain focused on their goals, he emphasized the importance of dedication, discipline, and integrity in achieving success. His words served as a source of motivation for the students, inspiring them to face future challenges with confidence and determination. He emphasised that the achievements of the students were a reflection of the collective efforts of the entire school community and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence while remaining grounded in their values.
The presidential address by the manager of the school, Fr Stany Pereira, was equally encouraging and heartfelt. He extended his warm congratulations to all the achievers and acknowledged their accomplishments with pride. Adding a special touch to the occasion, he sang an inspirational song that resonated with the students and conveyed a meaningful message of hope, determination, and perseverance. He also recognized the significant contributions of the teachers and parents, whose constant guidance, encouragement, and support played an essential role in shaping the students’ success.
The vote of thanks was delivered by the vice principal Anitha Thomas, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their support and contribution towards the success of the programme.
The School Anthem was sung with great pride by all the achievers, marking a nostalgic moment.
The master of ceremony was efficiently handled by Tara Bhandary, Preemal D'Souza, Maryam Shameer, Prajwal Patidar, Vinayak Poojary and Atharv P Bhat of grade X, who conducted the event with confidence and poise.
The deputy head boy Sanjeet Anchan and deputy head girl Dhanvi H Rai were seated on the stage throughout the programme, lending a sense of distinction and significance to the occasion.
Student volunteers joined hands with the staff members in organising the programme and ensuring its smooth and successful conduct, contributing significantly to the event's overall success.
