Mumbai, Jul 29: The spirit of leadership and responsibility took centre stage as Bunts Sangha’s Leelavati Hegde School (BSLHS) held its student leadership investiture ceremony for the academic year 2026-27 at the Bunts Sangha’s Shashikiran Shetty Education Institutions campus in IC Colony, Borivali.
Organised under the aegis of the Borivali Education Committee of Bunts Sangha Mumbai, the ceremony was conducted with great enthusiasm and discipline, marking the formal induction of the head boy, head girl, house captains and student council members. The newly appointed student leaders took their oath and accepted the responsibilities entrusted to them.






Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Marine Captain Santosh Shetty, who is associated with the crude oil transportation sector, delivered an inspiring message to the students, emphasising the importance of discipline, dedication and service.
“Today’s leaders are tomorrow’s nation builders. Discipline and a spirit of service during student life are the foundations of successful leadership. Students should make their school years meaningful and use them to shape a bright and purposeful future,” he said.
Presiding over the programme, Bunts Sangha Mumbai president Praveen Bhoja Shetty highlighted the vital role played by educational institutions in nurturing responsible leaders. He said the leadership qualities developed during school years would help students achieve success in their personal lives and contribute towards building a better society.
The programme was attended by several prominent members of Bunts Sangha and the education committee, including Bunts Sangha Mumbai vice-president Mahesh S Shetty; Borivali Education Committee vice-president Nityananda Hegde Nadibettu; secretary CA Jagadish B Shetty; treasurer CA Aditya Shetty; co-ordinator Ashok Shetty; Fund-Raising Committee chairman Mundappa Payyade; advisory committee chairman Dr P V Shetty; Prakash Shetty; Dr Satish Shetty; Bhaskar Shetty Karnad; Dr Harini Chouta; and BSLHS Principal Kavitha G Hegde.
The dignitaries addressed the students on the significance of leadership, accountability and community service, encouraging them to become responsible citizens and future contributors to society.
Adding patriotic fervour to the occasion, students presented a special dance performance commemorating Kargil Vijay Diwas, paying tribute to the nation’s armed forces. The presence of proud parents, who witnessed their children embark on their leadership journey, made the event even more memorable.
The programme began with a welcome address and introductory remarks by Nityananda Hegde Nadibettu. The house captains compered the proceedings, while Principal Kavitha G Hegde delivered the vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
