Mumbai, Jul 26: Central Railway's Mumbai Division is carrying out a scheduled mega block on Sunday across sections of the Main Line and Trans-Harbour Line to facilitate essential engineering and maintenance work aimed at improving the safety and reliability of railway infrastructure.

No daytime maintenance block has been announced on the Western Railway suburban network, allowing services there to operate as per schedule.

On the Main Line, the block is in effect on the Up and Down Fast Lines between Thane and Kalyan from 10:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.

During the five-hour maintenance window, fast and semi-fast suburban trains will be diverted to the slow corridor and will make additional stops at Kalva, Mumbra and Diva stations. Railway authorities have said these services are likely to arrive at their destinations with a delay of around 10 minutes.

Several Mail and Express trains passing through the section will also be rerouted via the 5th and 6th railway lines between Thane and Kalyan to accommodate the engineering work.

On the Trans-Harbour Line, train services between Thane and Vashi/Nerul will remain suspended from 11:10 a.m. to 4:10 p.m.

As a result, a number of suburban services operating on the Thane–Vashi, Thane–Nerul and Thane–Panvel routes during the block period have been cancelled.

Central Railway has advised passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and expect temporary disruptions while the maintenance work is underway. The periodic mega blocks are undertaken to inspect, repair and upgrade railway tracks and related infrastructure to ensure safer and smoother train operations.
