Mumbai, Jul 23: Senior Tulu-Kannadiga political leader Laxman C Poojary Chitrapu on Thursday felicitated newly elected Maharashtra Legislative Council deputy chairman Sachin Bhau Ahire during a courtesy meeting at the Vidhan Bhavan in Nariman Point, Mumbai.
Poojary, who serves as the North Central District observer of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) in Mumbai, was joined by Niranjan Laxman Poojary, a member of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) K-East Ward Committee and vice-president of the NCP (SP), Mumbai North West District, and Amol Methle, president of the Mumbai NCP (SP) Youth Wing.



The NCP leaders met Ahire at the deputy chairman's office in the Vidhan Bhavan, where they honoured him with a traditional shawl and presented him with a sacred idol of Lord Vitthal and Goddess Rukmini. They congratulated him on his election to the prestigious constitutional post and extended their best wishes for his continued commitment to public welfare.
Addressing reporters after the meeting, Laxman C Poojary Chitrapu said Ahire had earned a distinguished place in public life through his unwavering commitment, close rapport with the people, scholarly approach to leadership and deep sensitivity towards the concerns of ordinary citizens.
"Throughout his political journey, Sachin Bhau Ahire has demonstrated stability, integrity and a strong connection with the people. We are confident that, as deputy chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, he will further strengthen democratic values and steer the state's holistic development in a new direction," Poojary said.
Conveying his best wishes, Poojary added, "I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Sachin Bhau Ahire and wish him every success in his future responsibilities. May his leadership continue to grow from strength to strength, and may his dedicated service to society achieve unprecedented success."
