Karkala: Christ King School girls' volleyball team wins state title at Bhandav Cup 2026

Karkala, Jul 22: The primary school girls' volleyball team of Christ King School, Karkala, emerged as champions at the Bandhava Cup 2026 State-Level Volleyball Tournament, held at the Kittur Rani Chennamma Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru.

The tournament witnessed participation from around 36 primary school teams from across Karnataka, making the competition highly competitive. Displaying exceptional teamwork and skill throughout the tournament, the Christ King School girls secured first place and brought laurels to the institution.

The championship trophy was presented by former Karnataka Transport minister Ramalinga Reddy during the prize distribution ceremony.

The winning team comprised Trishma S, Srishti, Pranvi S Devadiga, Kaitlyn Angel Pinto, and Elsa Rubel D'Souza of class VII, along with Nisha D'Souza and Alisha D'Souza of class VI.

The team was coached by the school's physical education teacher Prakash Nayak, whose guidance played a key role in the team's success.

The school management, teaching staff, parents, and sports coaches congratulated the students on their outstanding achievement. The victory is regarded as another significant milestone in Christ King School's sporting legacy and reflects the institution's continued commitment to promoting excellence in sports.
