Mangaluru, Jul 16: The Institute of Occupational Therapy, Srinivas University, successfully organized a four-day student development programme titled 'From Question to Publication: A Research Journey for Undergraduates' for pre- final year (BOT) students at the University's New Campus, Pandeshwar.
The workshop aimed to strengthen students' research knowledge and prepare them for academic projects and future scientific publications. The sessions covered key aspects of research, including research methodology, statistical methods, research ethics, manuscript writing, publication procedures, and plagiarism awareness.




The program featured distinguished resource persons from Srinivas University. Dr Aishwarya Nitin Sonwane (PT), assistant professor, Institute of Physiotherapy, introduced students to the fundamentals of research and various research designs. Prof Shashidhar Kotian, professor – research, explained statistical methods and emphasized ethical practices in research. Dr M Prem Kumar, HOD & professor, Institute of Physiotherapy, guided students on manuscript writing, journal selection, and the publication process. The concluding session on plagiarism and research integrity was delivered by Dr Praveen B M, research director, Srinivas University.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from fourth-year BOT students, with interactive sessions that enhanced their understanding of responsible research practices and scientific writing. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, marking a significant step in promoting research culture among undergraduate students.
