Media Release

Mangaluru, Jul 16: The Investiture Ceremony of the school cabinet for the academic year 2026-27 was held at the Milagres College Auditorium on July 13, marking the formal induction of the newly elected student leaders.

The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp following a welcome address by Rishon Preston Rodrigues. The event was presided over by the correspondent, Fr Ivan Michael Rodrigues, while Dr Alwin Serrao, campus director, attended as the chief guest.

Also present were Fr Joseph Uday Fernandes, principal of Milagres School, Melvin Vas, principal of Milagres PU College, and Dr Diana Lobo, principal of Milagres College of Nursing.

During the ceremony, the newly elected cabinet members were presented with sashes and badges before taking the oath of office, which was administered by the school principal.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Alwin Serrao emphasised that effective leadership is built on three essential skills—speaking, listening and writing. He encouraged the student leaders to uphold these qualities while carrying out their responsibilities.

In his presidential address, Fr Ivan Michael Rodrigues formally inaugurated the school clubs and reminded the student cabinet that 'a good leader knows the way, walks the way and shows the way', urging them to lead by example and inspire their peers.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Nidhisha D Shetty of grade IX, followed by the National Anthem.
