Mangaluru: St Aloysius college to organize a 3-day ‘Monsoon theatre festival – 2026’ from Jul 17

Mangaluru, Jul 15: The Ranga Adhyayana Kendra, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) is organizing a 3-day ‘Monsoon theatre festival – 2026’ from July 17 to 19. The three-day festival will feature children's theatre, dance theatre, a musical theatre production, and contemporary drama.

On July 17, the children's play ‘Manavapura’ will be presented by the participants of the Ranginata Theatre Camp of Arehole Pratishthana, followed by the dance theatre production ‘Barkurina Hadg’ by Nandagokula Kalavidaru.

On July 18, the musical theatre production ‘Ragasandhana’, conceived by Dr Ravindra Gururaj Katoti and directed by Vidwan Korgi Shankaranarayana Upadhyaya, will be staged. The production features renowned Hindustani vocalist Sri Sidhartha Belmannu, who will both sing and perform in the play.

On July 19, Punah Theatre, Manipal will present the contemporary play ‘Angara’, written by Usha Kattemane and directed by Abhinav Grover.

All performances will be held at the LCRI Auditorium, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, beginning at 6:30 pm each day. Entry is free for all performances.

The festival is being organized in collaboration with Arehole Pratishthana, Astitva (Regd), Mangaluru, the department of Kannada, and the Centre for Language and Cultural Studies.

The Centre for Theatre Studies has invited theatre enthusiasts, students, and members of the public to attend the festival in large numbers.
