Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School inaugurates 'Iris' AI teaching robot

Mangaluru, Jul 13: Lourdes Central School (LCS) marked a significant milestone today July 13 by introducing its first Artificial Intelligence-powered teaching robot, named Iris. The advanced educational tool is designed to enhance classroom learning, foster critical thinking and expand the intellectual horizons of the student community.

The robot was sponsored by Amaze Heads and developed with the technical assistance of the school’s AI teachers Reshma and Daphne.

The historic unveiling took place during the morning assembly, where the principal, Fr Johnson L Sequeira officially introduced the robot to the school. In a captivating live demonstration, the principal interacted with the AI robot, showcasing its advanced capabilities to a spellbound audience of students and staff.

Moving forward, Iris will be an integral part of the LCS family. Students across different classes will receive opportunities to interact with the AI assistant during lessons and special school occasions. The initiative solidifies Lourdes Central School's commitment to integrating progressive technology into modern education.
