Three injured in gas leak-triggered fire at Mulund house

Mumbai, Jul 12: Three persons sustained burn injuries after a gas leak triggered a fire at a house in Mumbai's eastern suburb of Mulund on Sunday evening, civic officials said.

The incident occurred around 5.30 pm at Aman Nagar in the Khindipada area while a technician was carrying out maintenance work at the house.

Firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control within a short time, officials said.

The injured were identified as Pramila Vishwakarma (50), who suffered around 40 per cent burns, Aradhana Vishwakarma (24), who sustained about 20 per cent burns, and Mohammad (52), who suffered nearly 30 per cent burns.

All three were admitted to the civic-run Agrawal Hospital in Mulund for treatment.

Officials said the exact cause of the gas leak is yet to be ascertained, and further investigation is underway.
