Uttar Pradesh, Jul 8: Success in the UPSC Civil Services Examination is often built on years of perseverance, and Aastha Jain’s story is a testament to that. Hailing from Kandhla, a small town in Uttar Pradesh, the daughter of a grocery shop owner secured an outstanding All India Rank (AIR) 9 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, turning her dream of joining the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) into reality.

Aastha cracked the prestigious examination in her third attempt. Remarkably, she achieved the feat while undergoing training for the Indian Police Service (IPS) in Hyderabad. She took a break from her training to prepare once again, determined to improve her rank and fulfil her IAS ambition.

Her preparation reflected a disciplined and practical approach. While she initially attended coaching classes in Delhi to build a strong foundation, she later relied largely on self-study, supplemented by online learning resources. Her consistency, focused preparation, and ability to balance training with studies proved instrumental in her success.

Behind Aastha’s achievement is the unwavering support of her family. Her father, Ajay Kumar Jain, runs a small grocery and confectionery shop, while her mother, Mamta Jain, is a homemaker. Despite modest means, her parents ensured that all four of their children received equal educational opportunities. Her father has credited her success entirely to her hard work and dedication.

Academic excellence has always been a part of Aastha’s journey. In 2019, she scored 496 out of 500 in the CBSE Class 12 examination, securing the fourth rank nationally. She later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Delhi, continuing her UPSC preparation alongside her studies.

Aastha also comes from an academically accomplished family. Her elder sister is a doctor, her younger sister is pursuing MBBS, and her brother is also pursuing his education. She has often acknowledged the encouragement of her parents, siblings, and teachers as a key source of motivation throughout her journey.

Aastha Jain’s rise from a small-town background to securing AIR 9 is an inspiring reminder that determination, disciplined preparation, and family support can overcome financial and geographical limitations. Her journey serves as a powerful motivation for thousands of civil service aspirants across the country.
