Iran warns Israel after minister’s ‘marked for death’ remark

Daijiworld Media Network - Tehran

Tehran, Jul 1: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has strongly reacted to remarks by Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz, who allegedly said Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei was “marked for death”.

Araghchi said any threat against Iran’s leadership and people would receive an immediate and strong response.

“The terms of the Islamabad MoU are crystal clear and public for all to see,” Araghchi said, adding that US President Donald Trump had committed Washington to restraining its allies in Tel Aviv. He warned that if such instructions were ignored, “Iran will respond”.

Katz, in remarks shared by Israeli media on Monday, described Iranians as “good merchants” seeking concessions during negotiations and reiterated that Israel would not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons.

Reacting to the comments, Araghchi said Iran would not tolerate threats and warned of consequences for any action against the country’s leadership or people.
