Mangaluru: Srinivas University IPSLM conducts anti-drug awareness rally

Mangaluru, Jun 30: The Institute of Port Shipping and Logistics Management (IPSLM), Srinivas University, through its anti-drug awareness cell, organized an anti-drug awareness rally on June 30, to educate the public and students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free society.

The rally commenced from the Srinivas University City Campus, Pandeshwar, and proceeded up to Hamilton Circle, with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and police personnel. Carrying placards with messages such as 'Say No to Drugs' and 'Protect Your Future', the participants spread awareness among the public on the importance of staying away from substance abuse.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Padmanabha C H, dean, Institute of Education, highlighted the growing concern of drug abuse among youth and emphasized the crucial role of educational institutions in creating awareness and promoting preventive measures. He encouraged students to become responsible ambassadors of the anti-drug movement and contribute towards building a healthier and safer society.

The programme was coordinated by Prof Nelson Periera, coordinator of the IPSLM anti-drug awareness cell, who successfully organized the rally with active support from faculty members and students. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr Venkatesh Amin, dean, Institute of Port Shipping and Logistics Management (IPSLM).

The rally concluded with a collective pledge by the participants to remain drug-free and to actively support initiatives aimed at eliminating drug abuse from society, reaffirming Srinivas University's commitment to social responsibility and community well-being.
