Mapusa, Jun 27: An Australian flight crew member has been booked after a prohibited satellite tracking device was allegedly found in his baggage during security screening at Manohar International Airport in Mopa, police said.
The accused, identified as 30-year-old Brett Gordon Brander, was preparing to board an IndiGo flight to Chennai when Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel detected a ResQLink 400 personal locator beacon (GPS device) inside his handbag during domestic security screening.

According to police, the device falls under the category of satellite communication equipment, the possession of which requires prior permission from the Indian government. Brander was unable to produce the necessary authorisation during the inspection.
Following the seizure, Mopa Airport Police registered an FIR against the Australian national under the provisions of the Indian Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1933. Further investigation is underway.
