Congress to launch nationwide ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ campaign against paper leaks and unemployment

New Delhi, Jun 16: The Congress party, led by leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, will launch a nationwide campaign titled ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ on Wednesday from Rajasthan’s Kota to protest against examination paper leaks, recruitment irregularities and rising unemployment.

The campaign aims to highlight issues affecting students and young job aspirants across the country, with a special focus on transparency in examinations and employment opportunities.

The movement will begin in Kota, where Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to interact directly with students and candidates preparing for competitive examinations.

Ahead of the event, Gandhi reached out to students through a post on social media platform X, acknowledging their frustration over repeated paper leaks, cancelled examinations and delayed recruitment processes.

“I know you're exhausted. You're angry. But remember this — when the government refuses to listen, you have to raise your voice louder,” Gandhi said.

“Let's come together and become a roar that can't be ignored. Starting from Kota and reaching every corner of the country, this is a fight for your future, and I stand with you,” he added.

Announcing the initiative, K. C. Venugopal said Rahul Gandhi would address student conventions in multiple cities as part of the first phase of the campaign.

After Kota, the next events are scheduled in:
• Allahabad – July 10
• Patna – July 11
• Delhi – July 14

According to the Congress, repeated incidents of examination paper leaks, irregularities in recruitment processes and growing unemployment are jeopardising the future of millions of young Indians.

The campaign intends to bring together students, competitive examination aspirants, teachers and youth organisations to raise these issues at the national level.

In a statement, Venugopal said the movement was launched under the leadership of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi to draw attention to challenges faced by the country's youth.

He said the campaign would focus on recurring paper leaks, rising examination costs, recruitment-related irregularities and the need for a transparent and fair education and employment system.

Local Congress leaders said Kota was deliberately chosen as the starting point because of its status as India's leading coaching hub, where thousands of students from across the country prepare for competitive examinations.

Rakhi Gautam and Bhanu Pratap Singh said the campaign would provide students a platform to voice their concerns and seek solutions to issues affecting education and employment.

Preparations for the event are underway, and a team from the All India Congress Committee has already reached Kota to inspect venues.

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also extended support to the initiative, saying the Congress would intensify its struggle against shortcomings in the current education system.

“Our fight for education, employment opportunities and the future of India’s youth will continue with full commitment. The resistance continues,” Gehlot said.
