Tulu Koota Bahrain organises 'Anand Lobo Tribute Programme'

Manama, May 29: The Anand Lobo Tribute Programme, organised by Tulu Koota Bahrain in association with the Indian Club, was held on May 29 at the Indian Club Bahrain Cultural Hall, attracting a packed audience and receiving overwhelming appreciation from the community.

The event was organised in memory of the late Anand Lobo, former president of the Indian Club and Karnataka Social Club and the visionary founder of Kudlotsava. The tribute programme was a meaningful celebration of his life through documentary show, leadership and contributions to the expatriate community in Bahrain.

As part of the tribute, a week-long Lobo Memorial Sports Tournament-Kudlotsava- 2026 was conducted featuring cricket, volleyball, throwball, and tug-of-war competitions. The winners and runners-up were honoured with trophies during the programme.

The cultural programme featured a variety of performances, including songs in different languages, colourful dance performances presented by various Tulunadu associations in Bahrain and a fashion show for kids and ladies in traditional attire.

One of the major attractions of the evening was the energetic tiger dance performance by Akshar Rajesh Shettigar, added a vibrant traditional touch to the celebrations.

Tulukoota Bahrain president, Rajkumar Bhaskara, welcomed the chief guests and audience. The chief guest of the programme Fr Vincent Serrao, in his address, appreciated the organisers for honouring Anand Lobo's legacy and expressed his wish that such community programmes be organised every year to preserve cultural values and strengthen unity among the community.

The programme was gracefully compered by Felcy Fernandes, who kept the audience engaged throughout the evening. Following the prize distribution ceremony, dinner was served to all attendees. Sujay Pinto delivered vote of thanks.

Anand Lobo's dream of bringing the community together through grand cultural celebrations such as Kudlotsava was truly relived through this memorable tribute event.

The organising committee extended its sincere gratitude to Ronald Colaco, the main sponsor of the event, for his generous contribution and unwavering support.

The committee also thanked all sponsors, volunteers, participating associations, performers and well-wishers whose collective efforts made the Anand Lobo Tribute Programme a memorable success.
