Mangaluru, Jun 11: Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University organized a Blood Donation Camp on June 10 at Aviation Campus, Hampankatta, Mangaluru. With the aim of promoting voluntary blood donation and creating awareness about the importance of donating blood to save lives.
The event commenced with a prayer. This was followed by a welcome address delivered by Nishitha G Shetty, Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, who extended gratitude to all attendees and encouraged participation in the noble cause.





The programme was conducted under the able guidance of Dr Pavitra Kumari, dean, Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, and was supervised by Dr Madhukara, medical officer, along with Savitha K S, technical supervisor. The camp served as a platform to encourage students and faculty members to participate in a noble humanitarian cause and contribute towards the healthcare needs of society.
The blood donation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from a broad spectrum of the university community, including students, faculty members, and administrative staff. A total of 70 individuals registered for blood donation. The pre-donation process included registration, haemoglobin level checks, blood pressure monitoring, and a general assessment of the donor's fitness, ensuring the safety of donors.
The collected blood units were carefully preserved and sent to Srinivas Hospital, Mukka, where they will be used to support patients in urgent need of blood transfusions. The initiative not only contributed to a life-saving cause but also served as an educational experience for participants, reinforcing the values of empathy and social contribution.
The camp concluded on a positive and uplifting note, with participants expressing a strong sense of satisfaction and pride. The event not only reflected the university’s dedication to human welfare but also reinforced the values of community service and environmental awareness. It left a lasting impression of compassion and collective responsibility among all participants.
The camp was conducted under the supervision and guidance of Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean of the Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University.
