Mangaluru, Jun 1: Milagres Central School, organized a faculty development programme on ‘Promoting emotional well-being and wellness in the workplace’ on May 29. The programme began with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address and the introduction of the guest speaker by the principal, Fr Uday Fernandes.

The resource person, Fr Arun Lobo, director of Shanti Kiran Counselling Centre, Bajjodi, conducted an engaging and insightful session on the importance of emotional well-being in the teaching profession. He highlighted the multiple roles of a teacher as a guide, mentor, friend, and role model, and emphasized the significance of emotional intelligence in the workplace.

The session included interactive group activities, discussions on positive psychology, and practical resilience-building techniques to help teachers manage stress and maintain a positive outlook. Participants were encouraged to reflect on their key learnings and identify practices they would carry forward in their personal and professional lives.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. The session was highly enriching and provided valuable insights into fostering emotional well-being and creating a positive work environment.
