Panaji, May 24: Parish priest and social activist Fr Bolmax Pereira is currently on life support at Goa Medical College and Hospital after suffering a severe cardiac arrest on Saturday night.
According to sources, Fr Pereira had initially shown signs of improvement earlier in the evening, interacting with visitors, including youth members at the hospital. He reportedly even shared light conversation and meals, raising hopes of recovery among those present.

However, his condition suddenly worsened around 10:20 p.m. after he is believed to have suffered another major heart attack. Medical teams at Goa Medical College and Hospital immediately attempted resuscitation before placing him on life support.
Friends and well-wishers who had visited him earlier expressed shock at the sudden deterioration, noting that he had appeared stable and responsive just hours before the incident.
Fr Pereira had earlier collapsed on Friday morning at Vasco da Gama Railway Station while preparing to travel for a picnic to Collem. He was first revived at Daffodils Hospital and later shifted to Goa Medical College for advanced treatment.
Doctors continue to monitor his condition closely, while community members and parishioners have appealed for prayers as his condition remains critical.
