Rajasthan worker dies of electrocution at Goa construction site

Panaji, May 23: A 29-year-old carpenter from Rajasthan died of electrocution while working at a construction site in Deulwada, Anjuna, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Mala Raghuram Chand, who was residing in Harvalem in Goa.

According to police, the incident occurred around 1.30 pm on Thursday when Chand was constructing a metal sheet shed at the site.

After completing the work, he was descending while lowering a drill machine when he reportedly came into contact with an exposed live wire and suffered a severe electric shock.

A fellow worker immediately switched off the power supply and rushed him to a private hospital in Vagator.

However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police said the body was later handed over to the family after post-mortem examination.
