Panaji, May 23: Goa health minister Vishwajit Rane on Saturday described chief minister Pramod Sawant as a “magician” who is capable of filling around 22,000 government vacancies before the next Assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters, Rane expressed confidence that the Chief Minister would accelerate recruitment in response to growing demand for government jobs across the state.
He said there is a strong preference for government employment among youth from all 40 constituencies in Goa, adding that the ruling party alone has the capacity to address these vacancies effectively.

Rane further claimed that the Chief Minister would ensure that all pending vacancies are filled before the elections, calling it a key aspiration of young job seekers in the state. He also asserted that the next government in Goa would continue to be led by the BJP.
In a separate remark, the minister said he had personally been covering salaries of several contractual workers from his own funds due to delays in government clearance of their payment files. He explained that he took the step after inviting them to work and did not want them to face financial hardship.
The statements come amid ongoing discussions in Goa over employment generation, administrative delays, and rising expectations for large-scale recruitment in the public sector.
